To Eat Or Not To Eat

So, you didn't know you could EAT lavender? You're not alone. Lavender is a beautiful and fragrant flower that is well-known for its use in bath and body products. However, it is an edible herb which can add a dash of color as well as flavor to many dishes.

While you can safely eat any lavender, the Lavandula Angustifolias are the milder, sweeter varieties which are most commonly used for cooking and baking. If you're new to the flavor of lavender, think "less is more". Start by using about 1/2 teaspoon on a baked chicken, roast, or in a cookie recipe.

There are many recipes available in the book we offer, The Art Of Cooking With Lavender by Nancy Baggett. Our lavender is grown with no herbicides, pesticides, chemicals or fertilizers. Know you are getting a safe and natural product for culinary use. With lavender the possibilities are endless. I think I will try lavender with chocolate next (hot chocolate or brownies...or maybe both!)
