Art In Bloom Kids' Workshop--Ages 10-14

This workshop will be held on Wed, June 5, 2024 from 10am-1pm, Thurs, June 6, 2024 from 10am-1pm & Fri, June 7, 2024 from 10am-1pm.  Our Art Exhibition will be Friday June 7 from 7-9pm during our lavender u-pick event.  Each child will be provided free tickets for their immediate family to support their child's work!  The Art Exhibition does not include u-pick lavender, but may be purchased onsite.  

 Since there is so much to learn about art, our time will be structured in order to complete all the projects.  Students will be encouraged to express themselves freely throughout their art. Our workshops have an open, relaxed and inclusive atmosphere.  No previous art experience is necessary.  Learning and enjoying art and nature is the priority!  

We’ll begin with a brief intro to drawing, color & composition, then we’ll jump right into painting! We’ll paint with acrylics and watercolor during the 3-day course. Students will produce one 16x20 landscape, an 8x10 acrylic floral, a watercolor floral, a class collaboration project and a collage. Everyone will receive a  journal to experiment in.  We’ll take daily “walk abouts” outside observing nature with our journals in hand. There will be time for a snack/drink break. Water and pre-packaged snacks such as pretzels or chips will be offered. Your child is welcome to bring their own snack/drink if they wish.

Please have your child wear sunscreen before arriving at the farm each day.

Running shoes are best for hiking around. Please don’t wear sandals or flip-flops.

Acrylic paints will stain your clothes. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on.

Bees love lavender and are plentiful on our property. Please let us know if your child is allergic! 

Parents are welcome to stay during the workshop and observe or relax on the porch.

This enriching workshop will be led by farm owner/artist Tessa Habash.   Tessa has been a painter and nature lover for over 25 years.  She has taught painting and craft workshops at the farm for the last 4 years.  Check out her accolades under the website tab "Tessa Habash Art".
